Hello and welcome to SureStart School! Whether you are a parent, a student, an alumnus, a teacher, or someone looking for a great school, you will find a very special school community here—one built on a longstanding commitment, a solid foundation of core values, and a strong belief in our young people’s ability to excel. The faculty and staff offer a rich and vibrant program that fosters the development of our students’ minds, bodies, and spirits as they mature into tomorrow’s leaders.
We believe that all children deserve and can achieve a quality education given the right educational environment, and we strive to provide that for our young scholars every day.
We have created a program that bridges academic and achievement gaps while also preparing young people for a future that requires their talents and skills.
You will find a positive and safe school environment; energetic and dedicated teachers who plan thoughtfully for engaging instruction and go above and beyond to support student growth; an academic program that values strong math and literacy skills, as well as creative expression and the arts; support systems that enable all learners to be successful; and a community committed to modelling and teaching core values as an essential corollary.
As you learn more about SureStart, you will discover that our program and community are strong, but so are our results. We take a broad view of results, acknowledging that student success is defined by much more than test scores. Nonetheless, we strive for high performance and growth ratings. We have seen incredible growth in our student scores and strong performance in English Language Creative Arts, mathematics, and other subjects in recent years.
SureStart’s work is challenging but rewarding, and it requires every member of our school community—students, parents, teachers, staff, Board of Trustees, and community partners—to give their all. We are all working together to help students grow and have a bright future!
